In memory of Dr. Stephanie Harter
It is with sincere sadness to report that our good friend Dr. Stephanie Harter passed away on May 18, 2013. Stephanie served on our faculty as a member of the APA-Accredited Clinical Psychology program (twice serving as the Director of Clinical Training) for 20 years. Her research interests included constructivist psychology, trauma, and the psychology of art. She taught integral classes to our doctoral students, along with an array of undergraduate classes. Stephanie also provided effective and gracious service at the university, college, department and professional levels. Most importantly, she was a wonderful colleague and will be dearly missed.

Dr. Patricia DeLucia's Research Recognized by APS
The Association for Psychological Science (APS) has a recent news article on traffic collisions and our own Human Factors Professor, Dr. Patricia DeLucia, is recognized as an expert on perception who contributes insightful research relevant to motor vehicle accidents. Specifically, her research on perceptual judgements and time to collision suggest that individuals use unreliable depth cues over one-to-one calculations of an object's distance for making judgements about when collisions will occur. This result highlights the human perceptual processes that lead to errors in judgement and often can result in traffic accidents.
